I don’t shop at Costco but it may be you’re just seeing stale beans in a bulk container. The oil is a natural consequence of beans that have been heavily roasted and/or stored too long in the presence of oxygen. Keep in mind that coffee beans are not roasted WITH oil. From the look, all beans at Costco are oily. We have been using Lavazza non oily beans, but are ready for a cheaper alternative.
